Sept 11-13 Whistler Readers and Writers Festival
Whistler
Whistler plays host to a variety of literary events celebrating the written word. Both emerging and experienced writers will gather for various workshops and seminars that cater to the diverse backgrounds of festival participants. Ten writers will have the chance to work with a Writer in Residence during the month of September

Sept 13 Terry Fox Run and Barbecue
Whistler
Participate or support the runners of Whistler's 28th annual Terry Fox Run, then enjoy the 1st Terry Fox BBQ at the finish line. Team Splitz Grill, team Subway and team Whistler Cooks will provide food and drink, while live entertainment is provided by the Hairfarmers, Ali Milner and DJ Jenny Smith. All donated proceeds go to the Terry Fox Foundation.

Sept 18 TELUS Mountain Valley Golf Classic

This year marks our 14th anniversary for this very popular mixed golf tournament to raise funds for non-profit charities in the Sea To Sky Corridor.

Sept 19 Cheakamus Challenge
Bike Race
A mountain bike race like no other, the Cheakamus Challenge starts at the Squamish Airport and ends at Dusty's in Whistler Creekside. Featuring more than 2,000 metres of climbing and 40 kilometres of trail, this race will test your mettle with big climbs and high speed rolling terrain. Beginning at noon the Pique Newsmagazine Cheakamus Light offers an easier course for beginners and juniors

Sept 26-27 Whistler Spirit Run & Festival
Running Race
The 2nd annual Whistler Spirit Run takes place at Whistler Olympic Park and features two days of cross-country and trail running on mixed surface trails including gravel and bark mulch. With events designed for specific age groups from children to adults, competitions range from 1 km to 8 km while a 10 km fun trail is open to participants of all ages and abilities. A relay event for teams of four caps off the weekend.

Sept 27 Rubble Creek Classic
Running Race
The Rubble Creek Classic is a grueling 26 kilometre run which climbs through Garibaldi Provincial Park. It starts at the Cheakamus Lake parking lot, climbs up Helm Creek, traverses the cinder flats towards Taylor Meadows-Garibaldi Lake and then drops to the Garibaldi/Rubble Creek parking lot. An event not for the faint-hearted.
