We picked this hotel because of its proximity to Stanley Park. We wanted to avoid the hassle of driving into the downtown area to rent bikes and cruise the park. We also had a nice walk to the BC place area and Gastown to look for Vancouver Olympic 2010 souvenirs.

We ate breakfast in the hotel twice and thought it was a very nice buffet. Not cheap, but the food was excellent.

The parking under the building across the street was terrible. It was the typical underground parking lot with lots of pillars and tight turns. Since our location was ideal for what we wanted to do, we didn’t drive much, just one night to Granville Island.

It was expensive and the rooms were small, but we had a great view of the harbor from the 6th floor. If you want a downtown location near Stanley Park, this is a great choice.

My husband and I had a Trip to Canada flying into Calgary where we did a Rockies tour culminating in the Rocky Mountaineer (we spoiled ourselves and booked the Gold Leaf option which was great) which terminated in Vancouver where we were booked into the Westin Bayshore.

Cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and its staff. Upon arrival check in was effortless and made all the more enjoyable when we were told we had been upgraded to a harbour view room. Did I say 'room' well, to be more accurate, it was more like a small apartment. So spacious and we even had a small balcony. We were on a fairly high floor (cannot remember which) and had a corner room, so the views couldn't have been better. We so enjoyed all that was going on in the harbour, particularly in the early evening watching the small planes coming in (probably from Vancouver Island) and we could also see Stanley Park.

The indoor swimming pool was perfect and we used it several times during our three night stay. There was also a jacuzzi, steam room and gym.

We only ate at the hotel once, preferring to go out and about for our meals, but although on that occasion we opted for more of a snack the food we had was lovely and well presented.

The staff too were pleasant and helpful which is always one of the main pointers to a good hotel.

All in all a very happy stay at the Westin Bayshore and would highly recommend it. Do get a harbour view room, though, if you can.

We had 7 Harbor view rooms on the top floors and every one raved about the sparkling view of the Harbor and the lovely very clean rooms and great TVs. Most of all they loved the beds and the location of the hotel next to Stanley Park and out of the congested Downtown. We have stayed in Vancouver on several occasions and this hotel is the best value and most comfortable.

Overall our stay at the Westin Bayshore was nice. The inside of the hotel was quite nice, although the outside of the hotel certainly needs some updating. The location is nice for access to Stanley Park, but seemed a bit distant from shopping and eating locations.

Costly computer and internet access is a downfall, as is the limited shuttle service. We were disappointed to find that the shuttle would not drop us off at the cruise terminal, but rather went from only the hotel to a designated point downtown.

The Westin Bayshore has the best location in Vancouver if you're interested in staying on the waterfront, with a walkway along the harbor if you turn right on exiting the Tower entrance, and the seawall leading to Stanley Park if you turn left. The harborview rooms have beautiful water and mountain views. The Pan Pacific and Fairmont Waterfront, by comparison, are in the heart of downtown, near high-end shops if that's your preference, and near the Convention Center. Views, yes, but not a location on the water. The Juliet balconies at the Westin are small, but the fact that there is a large sliding window that opens is a big plus. So is the refrigerator in the room. And the rooms are big enough and nicely furnished. Even the two restaurants nearby are great. Both have patios on the water. The views from LIFT are spectacular especially at sunset. I love the horseshoe bar and couldn't find the Russell Lemon Ale, highly recommended, anywhere else. Crime Lab has great food and a terrific martini menu. Bottom line -- no matter where we went, we always were glad to be back at the Westin Bayshore. Incidentally, this is written about Tower harborview rooms, which are well worth the small extra rate.

What a lobby this place has!
It has to be seen to be believed - it's the size of many UK villages!

We rolled up all hot and grubby after a long long drive (including getting lost in Vancouver!) and were treated like royalty by the doorman-valet guy.
Then at check-in a member of staff approached with a couple of refreshing cool fruit drinks. A really nice, thoughtful touch.

The room was lovely - cool but not suffering from that dreadful clanking air-con you so often find in hotels.

We were only there for a couple of days but had a lovely time - the staff really want you to have a good time and continually offer you help and refreshments.

We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and very fairly priced - cocktails by the pool was our favourite bit!
Loved it.

Well located, well appointed and with some of the best service I have seen at any hotel, the Westin Bayshore was a pleasure to visit. We stayed there for a week in June and the rooms were nice (with large well-appointed bathrooms, Heavenly beds and new nice TVs) and the view and location were top-notch. Just a few minutes from Stanley Park, the Bayshore has certainly become the place that I will return to every time I visit Vancouver.

Stayed at the Westin Bayshore the night before we boarded our cruise. The hotel's location is great and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. However the front desk staff were rather standoffish and the room was tired (i.e. tiles were missing in the bathroom and door seal was hanging off). I was expecting more from a 4+ star hotel.

Excellent location and generally nice views from the rooms. Décor somewhat tired but still above average. Staff very friendly, and want to be helpful. Concierge did a good job of getting us into the right restaurants, but a little sloppy on the details (talk with Emily for important help). Prices in the hotel for food and drink are outrageous -- much better fare just outside the hotel.

But, any time in Vancouver is wonderful, and is in our top ranks for places to be.

Stayed at the Westin Bayshore for a cousin's wedding for three days. Overall it was a very good stay but the Hotel is not perfect. Booked through priceline and got a great rate but in return they assign whatever rooms they desired. In an effort to obtain a room with a King sized bed, I faxed a letter kindly requesting just a King and some nice places to eat, etc. Normally I'm not picky but it was a special weekend for us so I made that request hoping they would help. Besides, two doubles is more "sellable" than a King anyways.

When I arrived, they advised the hotel was full and actually would have put me in a room with two doubles and after politely requesting again in person (this high-ranking hotel may have not gotten my letter?) they found a King room that needed to be cleaned, so we returned a few hours later - I wonder if the Hotel was really booked up, but nonetheless I was glad they accommodated. The service at the front desk is at par with your typical high-end hotel and they were accommodating.

The room was on the second floor of the main tower and was well furnished and nicely appointed (bathrobes are a nice touch). Our bed was exceptionally comfortable. The pools and exercise room are top notch and it definitely gives you a feeling of luxuriousness..

However, not to be nitpicky, but as a high-end hotel I did come in with great expectations. The room itself was a bit on the small side and the view was poor (the front veranda). We could hear the water go on/off and flush at night and if people in the hall were loud at night, the noise permeates through the doors. This is the type of hotel you come back to sleep at and not live in for the day; it is Vancouver after all, so the sights and sounds are what matter.

The mini-bar and restaurant's prices are quite pretentious for what you pay (ie. $5 for a bottle of water) so expect this coming in. The showers are beautiful and unique, but if you are a bath type person, this may not work for you. Also, the closets are actually in the washroom. And don't forget parking will cost you $26+ and if you self park the parkade is actually down the street. Also, internet will cost you! If you decide not to receive maid service, the Hotel will give you a voucher towards any restaurant, room service, etc. so we used this to offset the high costs of breakfast. A ton of restaurants and other amenities are nearby, even a Safeway so for cost-concious customers (not sure if this is the type who would stay at this hotel) there are a myriad of dining options.

Overall, aside from the points above, if you are looking for the experience of a high class hotel, this is a good choice. The location is top notch right by Stanley Park and the hotel does offer excellent amenities. It does become a money pit once you factor in your meals, mini-bar and parking though, but again I imagine this is the type of hotel that wants to cater to customers with such luxuries.

We stayed 3 nights at the Westin Bayshore. Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel. The rooms were very nice and kept very clean. We had a room in the tower with spectacular views of the mountains and the harbour. The service at the hotel was quite good however check-in is a bit slow but concierge service was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The outdoor pool does get quite busy and can be difficult to find seating. Also, bar service poolside was extremely slow, with only one waitress serving the entire pool. We probably would stay here again, however it is a bit on the expensive side for what you get.

This is a very nice hotel right the on the waterfront. Beautiful views. Within walking distance to many things. If you have little luggage you can even walk to the cruise docks. We just felt it was very pricey and the room was looking worn. I would stay here again and try to get a good price.

With a location, and views, that are second to none, the Westin Bayshore feels like a special occasion splurge. I received a complimentary upgrade to a corner room when they realized it was my birthday. I had stunning views of Stanley Park, the mountains, the harbor and marina and a gorgeous skyline, especially at night. They really made my trip special.
Currents Restaurant, which serves breakfast, was pricey and didn't offer particularly good value, which is typical of restaurants in luxury accommodations. But there are plenty of dining options nearby at all price points.

My only complaint is the noise created by the heavy doors to the room. They close automatically but slam with force.

Westin Bayshore is located next to Stanley Park in a wonderful area. We enjoyed walking along the Seawall in this world class city. The hotel lived up to the high expectations we had set for it. My wife would have liked a spa, but apparently that is coming soon

I was at the Westin Bayshore for a business conference on location. It was a spectacular facility and the location right on the edge of Stanley Park and on the ocean was unbelievable! I stayed for 3 nights and now know I need a new bed! The staff was very friendly and the food was exceptional too. The access for walking through Stanley Park and along the water was great. Definitely will be back with my wife!

This is one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. I stayed there for a whole week once and it was just amazing. The window opens up on the water and the view of the sunrise is out of this world. The bed sheets and the pillows are just from another planet or something. I really love this place and wish to go back again and again.

I stayed here for 4 days/ 3 nights. I was given a room on the preferred guest floor. I had a magnificent view of sunrise on the coal harbour. The Grouse mountain with its snow covered peak provided a perfect backdrop for the sunrise. I took full advantage of the location, walked along the sea wall, tooled around the marina, and enjoyed the incredible views of Stanley park. The hotel is right next to Stanley park, and walking distance to shopping on Robson street.

Service is impeccable. My room was clean every time I returned. Pool and sauna are clean and provided a good way to relax after a long day of walking around Stanley park. Bell hop was kind enough to store my bags while I checked out and went around town to buy last minute gifts.
