We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights We arrived early and our room was not ready
due to a maintenance problem with the air conditioning. They offered us another
room but we said we would wait for the suite we wanted. When we got to the room
there was a bottle of wine and a letter of apology for making us wait. The staff
also made suggestions of places to dine and things to do. The hotel restaurant
is very good. The "Keg " is 1/2 block away, also good. Our favorite was a place
called "Scoozis", a block and 1/2 from the hotel. The staff can give you
directions. As the hotel is in the financial district it is fairly quiet at
night.

Stayed at Hotel Le Soleil before going on our Alaskan Cruise. The staff was
EXCELLENT! They were very helpful and gave us lots of information on boarding
our ship. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was always willing
to help with everything we needed. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again.

I agreed with most of the other reviews in Trip Advisor but this small hotel in
Vancouver's Center actually exceeded my expectations. I stayed here nine
consecutive nights, so I got a very thorough experience. Location was great for
the Center, easy walking distance to shopping, Canada Center, the river ferries,
Gastown. While on a busy street, the room was quiet and comfortable. Quick
service from a friendly staff. Free ireless internet connection was OK. Great
valet parking, although pricey. Any real complaints? Not really. The adjacent
restaurant was so-so in a city with some very good competition, but it was only
a short walk to lots of other good ones. The prices on the mini-bar and snacks
were so high, I thought it must be a mistake, but it wasn't. However, a good
market is close by if you need anything more than a Coke or a beer. Overall, a
good value in a good location.

Well located within minutes of the Art Gallery, Gastown and Canada place.
Comfortable good sized room. Good breakfast. Administration sometimes didn't
work too well, one day our room was not made up, and they never got our adress
right, but all staff were pleasant and helpful

My wife and I stayed at Le Soleil in a corner suite for 4 nights. We checked in
late and Cory courteously moved our room to a higher floor at my request. The
beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in at any hotel. The room was
spotless and housekeeping did an excellent job every day in keeping it that way.
The rooms are all suites with two rooms. The furnishings are very comfortable
and both the bedroom and the living area are equipped with a 42" LCD flat screen
television. The hotel provides free wireless internet and a refrigerator in the
room. Parking was only $22 per day. Compared to the other high end hotels in the
area this is excellent. The hotel does not have workout facilities or a pool.
This is not an issue for me because I don't go on vacation to workout in a gym.
Walking around is my exercise when on vacation. There is a very nice YMCA next
door. I saw an Olympic sized pool when walking by the Y.
The service was awesome. Every person in the hotel was extremely friendly. The
staff went out of their way to assist in any way to make our stay more pleasant.
Brett, the concierge suggested some excellent restaurants based on our dining
preferences.
Adam, Chris and Patrick were also very courteous. They would ask what time I
wanted them to have my car ready, suggested which place to buy a cuban cigar,
which lounge to go to and they provided excellent driving instructions. I never
got the feeling that the staff was fishing for or expecting a tip. The guys were
extremely professional. The front desk people were also extremely courteous and
helpful. The hotel provides free bottled water and apples as a courtesy. Nice
touch.
We received great value for the money. I booked when they were having a special
and received a very favorable rate. This is a solid 4 star hotel.
The only negatives are the rooms are a bit small. We tend to live out of our
suitcases when we travel and only one would fit in the bedroom. The other was on
the floor in the living area. There is a large closet in the hall between the
living area and bedroom. So if you unpack your bags there is enough room to
store your suitcase in the closet. If it matters to you the lack of a free
workout facility and a lounge with entertainment are the other negatives. There
are other lounges that provide jazz or piano entertainers within a few blocks of
the hotel. There isn't a great view from the rooms since it is only 14 or 15
floors. My room looked at the Hyatt and a TD Bank building but ince again I do
not go on vacation to look at the view from my hotel room.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us. The hotel is not smack in the
middle of the shopping district (Robson and Burrard) but only a couple of short
blocks away. So the hotel provided us with quiet enjoyment with the action only
three blocks away.
I would suggest using the hop on hop off bus tour. It takes you to various parts
of interest in the town and you can get on and off for one 2 day fee. There is a
great little breakfast place on Howe Street (one block over) next to Marios
Coffee. Make a right out of the hotel, cross the street toward Howe. At Howe
make a left down the street nad the breakfast place is on the left. It looks
like a hole in the wall from outside but the place is clean and breakfast is
very good for a reasonable price (Less than $20 including tip for 2). Catch a
sunset at Prospect point in Stanley Park. Have a meal at the fish house in
Stanley Park. The Salmon is awesome anywhere you eat in Vancouver and I am not a
huge salmon fan. Check out Gas Town and the Sun-Yet Sen Garden. Both places are
very worth seeing.
Hope this helps future travellers to Vancouver.

I stayed at Le Soleil for three nights with a friend in one of the corner
suites. We requested two beds, but unfortunately, none of those rooms were
available when we arrived. Even so, our room was essentially a small one-bedroom
suite with a queen size bed in one room and a pull-out sofa bed in the living
room. My friend slept on the sofa bed and thought it was good, not great.
Overall, the set up was fine, but when the sofa bed was pulled out, you couldn't
walk in the living room at all. Only a slight inconvenience. Our hotel room was
a good size for us and was certainly comfortable, but a bit cramped with luggage
and sofa pulled out, etc.
The hotel has a small/boutique feel in the midst of a big city. The location is
ideal, right in the middle of downtown and just a short walk to Gastown, the Art
Gallery, Robson Street, etc. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. In
fact, I had an emergency and needed to see a doctor on our second day and the
front desk pointed me to the walk-in clinic next door (as opposed to the on call
hotel doctor who charges $600 per consult).
The only negative experience we had was with the internet. The free high speed
internet was hard to access despite help from the front desk and multiple tries.
And the TV internet was a joke, but what do you expect when accessing the
internet through a TV?!
We got a great deal for the room online and paid about $100 per night. For that
price, the value was amazing. Very clean, centrally located, high end without
being stuffy. I would pay more for the hotel, but I'm not sure it would compete
with the big name high end hotels at its full price.

I upgraded because of a $20.00 food voucher only to find they restaurant would
only accept it as $10.00 used twice (different meals). Since we arrived late and
left early, it was impossible for us to dine there twice. In their favor, the
restaurant changed their mind quickly and handed me back the $10.00. Being
health conscious will cost you $11 as there is no workout facilities in the
hotel. They sell you a $11 voucher to use the YMCA next door. All this being
said, I wish I could have stayed longer - the corner room was elegant and
charming and inviting...

Service was excellent. The staff was very friendly & helpful. They offered to
show where to eat and what to see as soon as we got there. Little bottles of
water & fresh apples (all free!!) at the front desk were a nice touch.
The room was very clean & modern. It had an upscale feel to it without the
expensive price tag. Our family had two rooms and we were getting on a cruise
ship the next day. They let us keep one room and check out late (around 1pm) so
we could explore the city without dragging our bags around.
The location was perfect. It was within 3 blocks of both the cruise ship
terminal and the main street where shops & restaurants are. I would definitly
stay there again.

We chose this hotel based on other traveller reviews and we wern't disappointed.
The staff were particularly friendly and the room was great. Lots of space and
beautifully decorated. The central location of the hotel meant that we could
walk to the main shops including Pacific Mall and also walk to the harbour
front. There is a very big tourist information just down the road from the hotel
and the people are also very friendly and helpful there.
If you are thinking of travelling on to Vancouver Island as we did, then why not
travel by sea plane - this is what we did and the trip was amazing. We landed in
the Inner Harbour of Victoria in 35 minutes. We were also able to walk down to
the sea plane terminal from the hotel in Vancouver and then walk to our hotel
when we arrived in Victoria. I would highly recommend Hotel Le Soleil and if I
was going back I would stay there again.

Gorgeous little jewel box of a hotel! Good location, attentive and helpful
staff, charming hotel. When you first walk in, you may be a bit overwhelmed by
the interior designers' Empire design (Napoleonic bees, Regency stripe, document
fabrics, obelisks, etc., abound--along with the ubiquitous "soleil"--sunbursts
everywhere, on nearly everything, from doors to coasters!); but even if you're
not a fan, you can't help being drawn in. The suites are well-designed and make
good use of small spaces--operative word here, "small"; there may be only inches
between the foot of the bed and the ornate table that holds the flat-screen TV.
But the mirrored wall, huge windows, and well-laid-out floor plan give the
illusion of greater space, and we were not at all inconvenienced. There is still
an nice entrance hallway, cozy (but with adequate space) living room (with
sleeper sofa) and a roomy, luxurious black marble bath. All in all, a great
place to come back to after a day of sight-seeing. Highly recommended,
especially with Trip Advisor discount! :-) (In my opinion, though, not worth the
"list" price.)

Loved my stay in this hotel. It felt like home. Loved having 2 separate rooms so
that I could sleep while my friend could kick back in the other room and watch
tv. Both rooms had a tv... the amenities was perfect. Loved the staff! The
location could not be any better. Quiet, comfortable, convenient... if I come
back to Vancouver will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here after our 7 day Alaska cruise. Only a 10 minute walk from the
terminal. This is a lovely hotel. Not huge, but very friendly staff. Loved the
separate bedroom and lounge area. Very clean.

This hotel was recommended as the rooms have a lounge and separate bedroom area.
The hotel is very central and convenient. The bathrooms are a nice size and have
great showers. As we were jetlagged coming from England, we went to bed early
and had no problems sleeping as it was very quiet. The starbucks opposite was
very handy for an early morning coffee. The staff were friendly and we are
returning for one night after our trip around British Columbia.

One of my better hotel visits in recent memory. Professional, curteous staff and
clean rooms were a delight for us. Location is amazing as well, with a cute
restaurant in the lobby. Prices were reasonable and it just had a classic,
classy character that was memorable.

Two thumbs up for this fantastic boutique hotel in Downtown Van. While the
posted rates are on the pricier side, searching the travel sites revealed a much
better deal.
The rooms are fantastic. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, exactly
what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Rich plush towels, quality
toiletries, a comfortable bed, and complete sound insulation were great
features. The rooms were truly a home away from home, making them a comfortable
place to relax and spend time in.
Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff rounded our a fantastic stay at
Hotel Le Soleil. I will definitely consider this location when I travel again.

We could only afford one night, but it was well worth it! (so where the
chocolate covered strawberries).
The golden and white room was absolutely lovely! I really enjoyed the walk in
shower (enough room for two, or more) and the furniture was very nice. The
television was a little difficult to traverse, and we were a little disappointed
to discover in the “adult” section, no gay films were offered. The bed was
extremely comfortable and the elevators were nice and large.
Though the most hilarious part was of course having our 1990-something Toyota
valet parked as if it were just as important as the Hummer in front of us or the
Porsche that pulled up behind us when we checked out. We were treated
wonderfully, even though it was obvious this sort of life wasn’t something we
could normally afford. But again, it was well worth it.

This is truly a lovely hotel with an outstanding staff. Courteous, professional
and unpretentious service abounds. The rooms are far more luxurious than the the
majority of the upper end chain brands and rates are at least 35% less. Will
definitely stay at Hotel Le Soleil when we are in Vancouver!
