Was recommended this hotel by a friend (who also spent part of their honeymoon
here) and we were not disappointed. Excellent location in downtown Vancouver.
Must admit that hotel doesnt look like much from the outside but rooms and
service were second to none.
We were upgraded to a room on 22nd floor and had great view of the city. Room
was spacious with everything you need for a short stay.
Swimming pool and gym were excellent.
Staff friendly and very helpful. Car parking available if required.
Would definitely stay again.

We were pretty disappointed with our king suite. Although large in size, the
renovated apartment was pretty dated. The bathroom had not been renovated at
all. The hot water handle fell off when I went to turn on the faucet in the
sink. The balcony was not appealing with the A/C equipment in full view and
leaking.
The narrow hallways made getting in and out a challenge, as did the constant
wait for an elevator in the west wing. I will give praise to the staff who were
very friendly and helpful. The location is pretty good too.

The Pacific Palisades Hotel is a fantastic property right in the heart of
bustling Robson Street. On any given summer night, Robson throbs with hordes of
locals and tourists from around the world. It is a people-watchers delight and
quite fun to experience. Combine that with a dizzying array of restaurant
choices that extend down to and all along nearby Denman St. and you have one hot
scene. I love to experience it every time I come to Vancouver. Pacific Palisades
Hotel is perfectly situated for this.
The hotel consists of two towers that was once an apartment building. As a
result, the corridors are quite narrow for a hotel and the elevators are small
and slow. Do not let this deter you. The Pacific Palisades Hotel is a classy,
upscale boutique property. The decor is smart and modern with an art deco twist.
I estimate the building is at least 30-40 years old or older, but it it is kept
in fine shape and does not show it's age.
Our Queen Deluxe Suite was on the eighteenth floor and had nice views of Coal
Harbour. It was clean and well-kept. The furnishings looked and felt of high
quality, except for the sink, which was a cheap laminate A microwave was in the
cabinet that also held the honour bar, which we used to store what few
perishables we had. This allowed us to buy fresh local fruits at Granville
Island Market and have breakfast in our room everyday. The staff even brought us
a complete set of plates and utensils! Our balcony was unusual in that you must
step over a window sill in order to access it -- another concession to the
apartment building lineage. These quibbles were minor. My family (including
three young boys) absolutely loved this place.
The pool is enclosed, a nod to the mild summer temps, but it is large and kept
toasty warm. The boys loved it! One caution, the pool and the wokout room double
as a health club that is open to the public, so you will be sharing the
facilities. It never seemed crowded to me during our stay.
Every one of the staff was professional and courteous. It was obvious they
received good hospitality training and were managed well. It was so convenient
to be able to go down to the lobby , then jump right into the action on Robson
Street. Stanley Park is only a half-mile away and Canada Place is an easy walk.
The new Canada Line light rail system, which now allows you to get from the
airport all the way downtown, has a stop within walking distance. You can do
this without a car or taxi! We drove so we had to park our car, which can be a
problem on the West End. Our package included parking and I had a choice between
self-parking or valet. The parking was a bit tight for our full-sized SUV, but
then everything is tight for these behemoths. FYI, most other properties on the
West End do not include parking and it can be as high as $25CAD/day. So be
careful and seek out the package that includes parking, if available.
The Pacific Palisades Hotel is my first choice for an entertaining stay in
downtown Vancouver.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel after reading the reviews and i can say we were not
disappointed.
The location is excellent it is in the heart of the shopping district and an
easy walk to the harbour and Stanley Park.
We got an amazing deal on a suite which was beautiful. We had a lounge, a
microwave, balcony, mini bar, kettle and 2 plasma TV's (husband a lot more
excited about this than i was).
The decor was tastefully done. The staff were extremely helpful. We did not use
the pool or eat at the hotel so can't comment on those.
Overall a top hotel in an excellent location which i highly recommend.

Big hotel in a great location. We were upgraded to a suite because we were on
honeymoon. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and genuine too. The room
was really bright and clean with a massive bed! The facilities in the hotel were
great, there's a gym and a swimming pool. There's guest laundry facilities which
can be handy if your trip is as long as ours. The restaurant was great for
breakfast and dinner.
Great location too on Robson. The concierge was very helpful with knowledge on
the city and surrounding areas.
Really good experience - would definitely recommend

This was our first trip to Canada and not the last. The Pacific Palisades was
our first port of call and we were not disappointed. All the staff were
extremely friendly and helpful and are a credit to the company. We stayed in a
one bedroom suite with a large balcony and were pleased with the overall
facilities. The housekeeping was excellent and all staff friendly and
accommodating. The rooms were exceptionally clean. We had requested a 'pet free'
room which we presumed we got as there were no signs/smells of dogs. The
cocktails were a nice touch which we enjoyed daily.
The hotel is within walking of all the main attractions including Stanley Park
which was fabulous. There is so much to do and see in Vancouver the 5 days were
not enough.
Overall a good hotel which we would certainly use again. The only negative I
would add is that a toaster would be useful in the kitchenette.

We have stayed in *all* of the fancy downtown Vancouver hotels, as well as some
of the less fancy ones, so we know the market well. We got a great value price
at the Pacific Palisades at a prime time of year, and knew of Kimpton's good
reputation, so we tried it -- and we definitely will be back! The Pacific
Palisades delivered a very pleasant, clean, comfortable, roomy, cheerful, au
courant room with good amenities. Staff was very accommodating, friendly,
cheerful and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite for no extra charge. We
received a cute "monogrammed" dog bowl with our dog's name on it. The dog (who
does not bark or chew things) was able to stay in the room while we were out,
which most hotels don't allow, and allowed us to enjoy the downtown amenities
without any fuss. The hotel's free cocktail hour with light hors d'oeurvres was
a nice bonus. Good location for those wanting to be in the heart of downtown
Vancouver action. The only two minuses were (1) the hallways and elevators were
very hot -- not air conditioned like the rooms -- so I might avoid this again
during a heat wave, as the elevators were like being in a hot box. And (2)
parking is a steep $25 per night and requires an awkward drive around the block
to get into the basement garage. Otherwise this hotel is a sleeper, delivering
friendlier, better service than many nearby competitors, with a nice polish to
the rooms, pleasant and inviting common areas and everything a frequent, savvy
traveler needs at a great price. Sweet!

Stayed at the Pacific Palisades for four nights in June with my husband and two
older teen daughters. The hotel was absolutely wonderful and the staff couldn't
do enough to please us. Every time we called down for something, like extra
towels or teabags, someone knocked on our door within only a few minutes with
the requested items and a big smile. The afternoon wine and cheese was a nice
touch, with friendly and approachable staff. Our bed was fine, although our
teens said that their sofa bed was not the most comfortable they've ever slept
on. Yes, the suite was a litte dated and slightly worn at the edges, but it was
spacious and light, and had plenty of seating and room to spread out. The
balcony overlooking Robson Street was a great bonus. We sat out there every
night, people watching. It was noisy at night, especially as we were there
during the Canada Day celebrations, but if you book an hotel on one of
Vancouver's busiest streets, that's what you expect. The free internet in the
room was great. The mini kitchenette had everything we needed for quick meals.
The gym was small, but adequately equipped and was great, as long as you used it
in the afternoon or evening, as it got crowded in the mornings. The concierge
was amazing - we had family members staying at a much more expensive hotel in
town who wanted to take us all out to a very fancy restaurant. Their concierge
was unable to secure a reservation at the restaurant, but ours achieved a table
for fifteen people within minutes. She was always helpful and happy to share
Vancouver tips. Every member of staff greeted us every time we saw them and we
were made to feel valued and welcomed. We'd definitely stay at the Pacific
Palisades again.

We stayed one night at the Pacific Palisades and had a great time. The staff was
very friendly. They had a promotion whereby you could win a prize if you were
able to hula-hoop for more than 20 seconds... I won some organic bath salts. We
also enjoyed the wine tasting in the gallery and played baseball on the Wii. The
room was clean and spacious with a great view.

I stayed at the Pacific Palisades hotel in May (paid full price $185/night) and
in July (by booking through Allure Hotels for $89/night). Both times we had our
dog with us, and this hotel accepts pets with open arms.
The hotel is in an excellent, central area of Vancouver (Robson St). It's within
easy walking distance to a lot of shopping, restaurants, and attractions. The
hotel has a "V.I Pets Program" and supplied us with a list of dog parks, dog
bags, and a personalized dog bowl with biscuits upon arrival. Furthermore, we
were not required to take the dog out with us while they cleaned the room, and
there was no pet waiver for us to sign. There is no extra charge for pets!!
The room we stayed in both times was a king suite. The hotel is older and looks
like it's been an apartment building before. The king suite had a spacious
bedroom and closet area, normal size bathroom, good size living room, small
dining area (round table and 4 chairs) and a kitchenette (fridge, microwave,
sink, dishes).
The hotel has a pool, spa, sauna, steam room, and fitness area.
The hotel parking was $25/day but there are cheaper parkade all around the
hotel which you could easily use, especially if you have a small amount of
luggage to carry.
The service was prompt and friendly. The staff go out of their way to help you
and they seemed to be happy working there.
On the downside, this hotel is on a very busy central strip of downtown
Vancouver. If you keep the windows open, it will be noisy at night.
The hotel is older. The rooms are decorated in bright, cheerful colors, but it
is not a 5* luxury hotel. However, the suites are very roomy if you don't mind a
bit of age. The elevators are very small, but they are fast.
I ordered room service from the restaurant once during the stay, and I'm sorry
to say it wasn't very good. I had a lovely follow up message from the hotel
about this experience though, so it really shows their concern about improving
their services.
This will become our new favorite hotel in Vancouver whenever we travel with
pets.

Fun and Fabulous is right! The Pacific Palisades Hotel was a great experience
overall. Most importantly is the fact that I could bring along my dog and he was
given 4 star service! The rooms were clean, the view was great and the staff was
friendly.
With an unbeatable location right downtown Robson Street my family and I had
shopping, restaurants and the ocean right outside our door. I definitely
recommend the Palisades to anyone going to Vancouver!
