Was my third time staying at the Sutton Place, but first time in an apartment.
We requested an apartment, since we travelled with our little girl, and it was
convenient to have a kitchen to prepare her food in the morning. Sutton Place
staff is always very friendly and accommodating. We loved it. Apparently the
Sutton is the only hotel in Vancouver with five diamond accolades. They deserve
it. Love the Gerard Bar in the evening.

This property is rated 5 stars on sites like Hotwire and Expedia, due largely to
services and amenities avail thru adjoining Sutton Place Hotel (e.g. pool, spa,
room service, valet, concierge etc) . I'd say the condos themselves are more
accurately 3.5 to 4-stars, but the location --and overall enjoyability of
staying here -- is about a 3.6 (depending on what rate you get of course!)
While condo furnishings, fixtures, bedding and appointments were all top-notch ,
the age/condition of the building, lack of sexy bathroom -- spotless but basic
-- and inability to cool the bedrooms to same comfort level of rest of condo in
warm weather offset things a little. Something to consider If your stay will be
made or broken by a good night's sleep. Windows are operable but surprisingly
not much breeze enters and tradeoff is street noise.
IGA Supermarket is immediately next door, and for coffee lovers who are over
Starbucks try the little European hole-in-the-wall just on the other (north)
side of the hotel for lattes and great baked goods. Urban Fare, Canada's version
of Whole Foods, also has a good breakfast options, coffee, baked goods etc a
couple of blocks away on Alberni street (the doormen will direct you.) My only
disappointment was no time to try JapDogs -- we were amazed at the lineup in
front of the hotel morning, noon and night!

We absolutely loved our stay at the residence. While it is agreed that the
sutton door staff could do a little less talking and a little more of opening
doors (my hands were completely full and they stood talking to each other), the
room itself was bright, clean and so was our bathroom and kitchen. We were very
happy with our stay!

We were greeted at the desk with a "free upgrade" because they "had the
availability" and we would be "more comfortable." We had a full apartment fully
furnished and stocked with dishes including wine glasses and corkscrew. The
concierges couldn’t have been more helpful and guided us to great restaurants as
well as transportation for our chosen tourist attractions. Location is excellent
with great IGA next door for wonderful groceries to alleviate restaurant costs.
Excellent size and suite layout. Suite and kitchen were well equipped. Room
maintenance and daily service were excellent. Room price was a very good value.
Parking was a little steep. Have stayed at Sutton Place many times, and will
definitely return.

We stayed at the La Grande Residence at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver in a
700 square apartment for 4 nights. There was a master bedroom, with a king bed,
full kitchen, dining area and living room which had a pull out sleeper sofa.
This contained a 40" flat screen TV, DVD player, plus another smaller one in the
bedroom.
Service was excellent. in all areas, with daily housekeeping and toiletries.
We were fortunate to find a deal on the Internet the enabled us to stay here for
about the price of a Hotel.
Very clean apartment. This is part of the Sutton Place Hotel which is gorgeous
and has all the amenities of a first class hotel- business center, spa, indoor
pool, restaurant. The Hotel Location was perfect. in the heart of the city and an
upscale Marketplace was just across the street.
The Hotel Concierge was very helpful.

Overall, the value received for staying at a 4 star hotel with kitchen
amenities, a 42" plasma TV (a smaller LCD in the bedroom), and a large spacious
room is well worth it. The service and overall attentiveness of the staff was
very good. I was on somewhat of an extended stay, so the Fairmount was a little
too pricey. The proximity is excellent and within walking distance (less than
4km) to almost all the attractions downtown.

Hotel is fantastic for families with kids, kitchen is just enough so you don't
have to drag kids to restaurant for every meal. Right next door is a gourmet
market IGA, we went every morning and go great croissants, egg sandwiches, etc,
fed the whole family for price of 1 hotel breakfast. I would go back, its like
staying in a condo with all the benefits of hotel also, and the best location in
the city for shopping and city stuff. The La Grande Residence is a nice place in
Vancouver for a family whom want have a getting in touch moment for their
holiday , convenient and close to shopping heaven and lots nice restaurant
around it.

Our stay at the La Grande Residence was great! Our room was larger than expected
and very clean. The spa and pool/hot tub were great. The concierge was very
helpful. And the location was prime-walking distance to Robson Street shopping,
and a quick cab to some fun clubs. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back!
Right around the corner from Robson street - very trendy and popular for
shopping. Also, sight-seeing trolley stops across the street - a bit pricey, but
worth it for city tour for hop-on, hop-off convenience at all downtown and
Stanley Park attractions.

Well-located in downtown - close to all attractions, shopping, restaurants.
Wonderful concierge! Valet parking and bellman were excellent. Room service was
exceptional. The accommodations were very roomy and comfortable - large HD TV
was excellent. Luxury accommodations with the best online price for the area.
Condo with full kitchen, roomy bathroom, bedroom and living area with dining
area, and a balcony. Great hotel!

It is a part of the Sutton Place Hotel and uses the same check-in and amenities
as the rest of the Sutton Place. There is no separate sign for La Grande,
although you do have the option to use the side entrance to go directly to La
Grande when going to your room.
Our one bedroom suite was spacious compared to a regular hotel room, and we had
a separate living room and bedroom as well as a full kitchen. The living room
included a large flat screen TV, DVD player, and surround sound.
Service was very good, and we had no complaints. We had full maid service,
including turn-down service.
We also had access to all of the facilities of the Sutton Place, including a
large fitness center and nice indoor pool.
Celebrities tend to stay at La Grande when filming movies in Vancouver, and we
saw a few in the elevators.
The location is great and within walking distance of many of the attractions in
Vancouver.
We had breakfast at a place right around the corner on Robson Street called Cafe
Crepe. It was good and inexpensive. There are many restaurants and shops along
Robson Street, which is very close to the hotel.
Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed this hotel.
