We had a very good experience at the Century Plaza Hotel. It's central location was the perfect launching pad for our weekend, it's kitchenette was perfect for us since we were traveling with a baby, the size of the room was great and gave our little girl a great place to crawl around and the price couldn't be better.

Our room was clean and comfortable and that's all we really needed. And you can't beat the price. I've never found a hotel in a major city in that good of a location that was that nice that had that reasonable a price. Solid.

We'll definitely stay at The Century Plaza again.

Love to stay at this hotel when in Vancouver. Every Feb. they are the hotel of choice for the Esthetique SPA International spa show visitors. I have never had a complaint about staying here. It's beautiful, the rooms are great, and it's so inexpensive for how how nice it is. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

My husband ended up in ICU at St Paul's just after Christmas and I needed a place to stay that was close, clean and reasonably priced. The staff at Century Plaza were excellent in getting me into a room that night and accommodating my subsequent 3 week stay. They gave me a preferred rate and waived the additional amount they would have made on a New Years rate. The staff were gracious, helpful and courteous. They made an extremely difficult time in my life and my children's life easier. I cannot say enough good things about the people in this hotel from the housekeepers to the doormen to the front desk staff, all were fantastic. I will remember this hotel and refer it to all of my friends who come to town. Thank you Century Plaza!

Good Price, Good Service and Great Location
I had read some reviews that made me question this choice but based on price and location decided to go for it. I am glad I did. The room was very nice and gave me great views of the city. The staff was very helpful. The location was perfect for my needs and I really appreciated the regular shuttle to the airport. It was extremely stress-free and I would recommend it to anyone.

Traveller's tip on dining
There are great local restaurants. I enjoyed an awesome Asian meal at a small restaurant near Davie and Thurlow--it’s the best I’ve had in a long time--and it was very inexpensive. I also had really good sushi at a restaurant on Main Street--good stuff (and it didn’t break the bank!)

Decent if can get a discount rate on room
Bed was best part of room - very comfortable. Location is great. Older building, with slow elevators. TVs need to be replaced. Bathrooms are modest. HVAC system not the best. Front desk staff are a bit stuffy... they are in a 3 star hotel, acting like they are in a 5 star... it’s rather amusing.

I needed to travel from a small town to Vancouver to have my 6 month checkup for my new valve at the hospital nearby. I was excited to see the hotel after having read reviews both good and bad on the net and stared at all the pictures. I was not surprised neither with the convenience of in-and-out parking right there nor the shining beauty of the comfortable lobby-then they told me I was being upgraded for nothing to the honeymoon suite on the 21st floor. Well, what can I say? i had to be dragged off the balcony where I watched twinkling xmas lights, city lights, ships on the water-my own little Shangrila! In the morning I was back there staring into the daylight world and ordered in a very reasonably priced breakfast. The coffee in the room was good. I can't wait for my next checkup- I stepped out a side door of the hotel and into the side door of the hosital right across the street.

Home away from home but with more style...
I really like this hotel. The concierge was excellent. He recommended the best places by price and food quality. It was within blocks of everything and the spa is to die for. You can save money and cook your own if you can keep yourself away from the international cuisine.

My boyfriend and I stayed here as well as two other couples. We had a standard room, one other couple had a junior suite and the other had the executive king. we were all generally happy with our stay with a few issues.
The carpets could definitely use a cleaning, you have to go all the way to the lobby with your ice bucket and get ice from the restaurant there. They charge you for each local call out of the hotel. It looks like there's complimentary water for you on the counter and in the fridge but if you read the tag on the bottles it says you will be charged $3.50 each if you drink them, so don't just get all excited and start opening one up like my friend did. Every suite has a kitchen but no dishes. you get glasses and cutlery though.
Overall it was a typical stay for the off season prices but I can't see it being worth full price. Great location and the views are outstanding.

Excellent location. Rooms are ok if you get an refurbished one with air condition. The corridors are dark and small and the elevators are very old. Windows open a with a little gap. Staff was ok and room was clean and reasonable sized

We were very impressed by this hotel. The price was reasonable in comparison to similar hotels that we looked at. The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean.
All rooms are suites, so rather large and comfortable.
It is a little noisy, but the hotel is in the middle of a large city, so that is to be expected. The location is excellent and serviced by two hop on and off tourist bus services. You can also walk to just about any location in downtown Vancouver. We got a taxi to the airport for four people and lots of luggage for $25.00!
Only negative I can think of is that the rooms are getting to the point of needing renovations (tears in drapes, stains on carpet, scratches on walls...) but still a great value for the money.

Stayed 13 nights at the Century Plaza End August/Beg.Sept 2008 and enjoyed the experience - all the staff were professional and friendly. Our room was a corner one on the 18th floor and afforded views down/side of Burrard Street, especially lovely when lights came on over the city at night. Any requests to staff were attended to immediately. The Beyond Restaurant/lounge was a very relaxing place to have a meal.
There was siren noise from ambulances, etc. in the street below but I guess this noise is heard all over the city wherever one stays. Perhaps it is heard more in the locality of the Century Plaza as there is an Emergency Hospital nearby.
We would certainly return to this hotel if ever in Vancouver again.

We stayed on the 28th floor by chance (the lower floors were already booked) and, after reading the negative reviews of the lower floors, I'd say that was a good thing.
My wife and I received friendly, attentive service from the hotel staff from the moment we drove in including the bellhop, front desk clerk and concierge (and even the staff person who gave me the Internet ID and password).
The room was large, clean and comfortable. Everything worked including the shower and TV. We had views of ships in the bay. It was nice having a full kitchen instead of the usual microwave and dorm refrig.
There were some negatives, of course, but we compensated. Elevator noise could be heard from the bedroom and may have made sleep difficult, however we ALWAYS sleep with earplugs when away. The sheets in the bed have way too much polyester and are not fitted-it's a pet peeve of mine to have the bottom sheet come completely untucked and ride halfway up the bed so part of me is sleeping on the mattress in the morning.....

We stayed at the Century Plaza, along with two other couples, on May 18th. Our rooms were on the 30th floor, very clean, with lovely views of the city. The hotel employees provided excellent service. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Compared to other properties in the same area, the cost of this hotel was very reasonable.

Hotel Location: Great. About a 10 min walk to the main street packed with shops, bars and restaurants

Room: Good. Massive 'suite' room with 2 kingsized beds, lounge with sofas, kitchen, large well fitted bathroom, tea & coffee, lots of storage. Clean and comfortable but the decor was a little dated. Brilliant views over Vancouver from the 11th floor.

Hotel: Impressive contemporary reception, modern lounge, great bar, nice restaurant serving a decent breakfast. Well equipped spa and relaxing pool. We didn't have time to check out the comedy club but would have liked to. Friendly staff and faultless service.

Overall: Great Hotel Location, good facilities and impressively large rooms. Little bit dated but excellent value for money. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel.

I booked a package that included the Executive suite, 2 tickets to Yuk Yuks, and dinner at the Beyond Restaurant. I thought the service was terrible from the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out. The room was beautiful, and had great views of Vancouver. My only complaint was there was never any hot water, day or night. Dinner at the Beyond was also sub-par. We had a horrible server, and the food served was completely different from what the menu items stated. The only good part of our stay was the Yuk Yuks experience. That I can definitley recommend, but stay at a different hotel, and just purchase the tickets.

Hotel has upscale amenities like the spa, restaurant and lobby, however rooms were moderately priced we booked an executive king which had breakfast included the room was very large and the bowl sink in the bathroom gave a contemporary feel. The best part of the hotel was the way the staff treated you starting from the doorman to the maid who was very obliging with extra coffee requests. Had a great stay and will be back
