I stayed at the Metro town Hilton while in Vancouver 2 nights ago. This Hotel was fantastic.
At check in the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I had forgotten to ask for a receipt from my cab to the hotel and within a 1/2 hour the front desk clerk had called the taxi service and had them fax a receipt to the hotel. She also printed out travel directions for my appointment the next morning, and took the time to explain the layout of Metro town to me and made suggestions for shopping.
The room was much more than I expected. The decor was beautiful and tastefully done. The bed was so comfortable and lots of super comfy pillows to go with it. All of the amenities are upscale and the bathroom had a tub to die for, a deep soaker tub to relax and let all your worries go by the wayside. The room was spotless and even though it was a smoking room you could not tell that anyone had smoked in there. The view was perfect and there was no noise at all and you could not tell that there were other people on the same floor.
I would recommend this hotel for everyone whether you are a family, lone traveler, or just want a romantic stay with your significant other.
I will be staying here the next time I am in Vancouver. And last of all the rate was pretty fantastic too.

Check-in and check-out were very fast and efficient. The room was fine. We actually had a good rate, as we paid the advance amount. The view was nothing special, but we expected that (overlooking a mall parking lot). The room had plenty of space for our family of four. Husband appreciated the larger, flat screen tv! We loved the fact that it was above the Crystal Mall - an Asian mall. The ambiance was neat and it was a great place to get Asian foot. The hotel is just a block away from Metropolis which apparently has over 400 stores (we spent way too much time there!). We were actually in town to see the Whitecaps play and had decided to walk there so we wouldn't have to pay to park (even though the front desk staff said it was only 5 minutes to drive). The weather was nice and it was just a 20 minute walk. It was night by the time we returned and we felt perfectly safe walking back.

The only drawback of the whole stay was that on our first morning, we were bothered not once, but twice by different cleaning staff (first one at 7:30, second at 9:00). The first one even got so far as to try and open the door. Now, I suppose that some of this was our fault, as we did not put the "do not disturb" sign out. But, we were not checking out until the next morning, so I did not think they would be trying to clean the room that early (you would think they would go for the rooms where people had checked out). Not a big deal though and it would not stop us from staying here again.

This hotel is across the street from the largest indoor mall in B.C. It is also attached to an Oriental specialty mall. It is in Burnaby, but not far from Vancouver. I always stay there. The rooms are spotless. The beds and bedding are excellent. I always have the best sleeps when I stay there (and I usually cant’ sleep in hotels). I have only eaten breakfast at the Crystal Grill restaurant, but have always been happy with the food and service. You have to shop at the MetroTown across the street.
