The room we were allocated was big and had a lovely king size bed. The decor is
a little dated but everything was very clean & tidy. We were room only and did
not get around to eating in the hotel. Staff were friendly.
excellent hotel for the price and very central location close to the Lougheed
mall and sky train.
Very highly recommended

Stayed at this hotel since the one I wanted by the river was booked up. The
staff was not that friendly, during check in, I seemed to be inconveniencing
them. They warned me not to leave anything in the car, the reason I picked this
hotel was that they had secured parking. The room was nice, the tub/whirlpool is
a bit difficult to get in and out of. On check out, the front desk guy didn't
say a word to me even when I thanked him. Oh, I also get a room away from the
irish bar next door, the music lasted til about 1am saturday. Overall this was a
decent value for the price.

Compared to a 5star hotel, yes it is lacking, for the average traveller it was
fine, location, shopping, restaurants all within walking distance and a good
base location. Staff were polite, convenient parking.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. While there, we noticed that this hotel
catered to large groups of Korean tourists and conference goers.
The rooms are average to small in size with all the expected amenities. We had 4
people staying in the room and were slightly surprised to find out the rooms had
2 double beds as opposed to queen size. So this is something to keep in mind if
space is a concern.
Our stay was average with the exception of housekeeping services which I found
to be quite poor. We were not given enough towels, toilet paper etc...We called
housekeeping daily to get more towels and supplies delivered to our room.
The hotel has a small exercise room and pool and a small hot tub outside. Also,
the hotel is smoke-free inside which for us was a great bonus.
On the plus side, parking for hotel guests is free. It is a short walk (5 min)
to the Lougheed Town Centre mall and Skytrain station which will take you into
downtown Vancouver in about 30-40 minutes depending on the time of day.
Furthermore, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to the mall for shoppers. We
found these perks to be a great bonus considering the price of parking per day
within Vancouver itself.
The Port Coquitlam Ikea is a short 5 minute drive away as well.
There are plenty of ethnic and regular restaurants around this area including
the hotel restaurant which served breakfast, and an Irish pub attached the
hotel.
I'd recommend it to business travellers or to those who are familiar with the
lower mainland areas wanting to visit Vancouver for shopping/sightseeing.

We booked a room at the Executive Plaza with our 8 month-old daughter, thinking
that the rate was average for a decent hotel in Burnaby/Coquitlam. I used to
travel to Richmond and Coquitlam on business until last year and paid about $15
a night more for much better accommodations at the Marriot.
Check-in staff were hardly friendly, and slipped by not having a bassinet
available for us as we had requested, once on expedia.ca when we booked, and
once when we called the hotel to confirm the reservation. Oh, well. Junior slept
in our bed.
The room was small and dark and lacking a fridge, which would have been helpful
for storing formula. The housekeeping staff didn't bother to put plastic liners
in the garbage cans, which we found less than sanitary. The bathroom light must
have had a broken fluorescent ballast, because it flickered incessantly the
whole time. A strange and complimentary toiletry item was the jar of cotton
balls in the bathroom, which no one in his right mind would touch.
There was the minor irritation of having the in-room clock-radio alarm go off at
12:00 AM and wake up the baby. Why a previous guest would set it for midnight is
anybody's guess, but I would have thought that housekeeping would have checked
it as a matter of course.
The really disappointing part was waking up at 3:00 AM to find all three of us
completely congested due to all the dust in the room. My wife, who isn't
allergic at all, couldn't go back to sleep. In the morning, we finally noticed
just how filthy the room was.
To top it all off, I went down to the parkade in the morning to discover that a
pipe over my car had leaked all over it during the night. Since the weather had
been clear and dry for over a week, I shudder to think what is all over my car.
When I reported it to the front desk staff, she asked what level I had parked
on, then offered no apologies or offers even to look at the problem with me.
All in all, a revolting experience.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July 2008. We booked through Hotwire at
the rate of $104/night including taxes, a steal considering how expensive hotels
in downtown Vancouver are during the high season. While there, we noticed that
this hotel catered to large groups of Korean tourists and conference goers.
The rooms are average to small in size with all the expected amenities. The
decor is the pinks and greens of the early to mid 1990's. We had 4 people
staying in the room and were slightly surprised to find out the rooms had 2
double beds as opposed to queen size. We were told that none of the rooms had 2
queen size beds so this is something to keep in mind if space is a concern.
Our stay was average with the exception of housekeeping services which I found
to be quite poor. We were not given enough towels, toilet paper etc...for 4
people, nor was our room cleaned adequately by housekeeping. We called
housekeeping daily to get more towels and supplies delivered to our room.
Furthermore, room service trays stayed in the hallways for over 24 hours which I
thought was unacceptable.
