The leading-edge technology of the Zeiss projector creates a 360-degree
view of the heavens seen from Vancouver.

Not only can visitors view the night sky, but also are entertained with
changing multimedia presentations including our famous laser musical
productions and a variety of original shows created by the H.R.
MacMillan Space Centre.
The Virtual voyage and full-motion simulator
The full-motion simulator combines science and drama animating the
excitement of space travel.
The virtual voyage experience is split into two separate sections: a
pre-show where you are informed of you current mission and objectives
and the second section is the actual ride itself where visitors climb
aboard a 30-seat spacecraft, strap on their seatbelts and soar past
earthly and heavenly spectacles.
Ground Station Canada
This 90-seat multimedia theatre combines live action and audio-visual
presentations. Programs provide regular updates of space news and space
technology with special highlights of Canada’s role in space.
These highly interactive shows where the audience is encouraged to
participate run about 20 minutes in length.
OBSERVATORY PROGRAMS
in the GORDON MACMILLAN SOUTHAM OBSERVATORY
Located right beside the Space Centre is the Gordon MacMillan Southam
Observatory, equipped with a 1/2 metre Cassegrain telescope to explore
the day and night skies around Vancouver. Telescope observing sessions
occur Friday and Saturday evenings and are organized by enthusiastic,
qualified staff and volunteers. Admission into the Observatory is by
donation so don't miss this opportunity to witness the wonders of the
Universe!
Every week an amazing new "Celestial Target" will be highlighted.
Everyone is invited to come on down and have all your questions
answered, find out how a telescope and observatory work, explore the
night skies, participate in exciting kids activities, and more!!!
To reach the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre by bus, you can catch the bus 2
or 22 to Cornwall and Cypress. From there you can walk down Cypress
until you reach Chestnut.
